Gado-gado
Ingredients:
Salad:
• 2 ½ boiled eggs, peeled and sliced
• ¼ cup cabbage, shredded
• ¾ cup green beans, sliced
• ½ cup carrots, sliced
• 3/4 cup cauliflower, chopped
• 1/2 cup mug bean sprouts
• 1/2 cucumber, sliced
• 2 potatoes, cut it
• 2 lontong (food consisting of rice steamed in a banana leaf), cut it
Peanut sauce:
• 3/4 to 1 cup coconut milk 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
• 3 stalk chili. Chopped it.
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon lemon
• 2 teaspoons fish sauce
Steps:
Wash all the vegetables and dry it. Then, all of the salad ingredients should be boiled in boiling water. However, if you are pressed for time you can serve them raw with the exception of the potato, which has to be boiled. Then, plunge the vegetable briefly in the boiling water and plunge into cold water. This leaves the vegetables nicely crisp and neither too firm or limp. Drain all the vegetables.
Arrange the vegetables on a plate, starting on the outside of the platter and work inwards, arranging the vegetables in a colorful pattern. Top with the chopped eggs and add lontong too.
To make the dressing: In a small saucepan, bring the coconut milk to a boil. Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes, until the peanut butter has melted and the mixture is thickened.
Enjoy it. It’s Yummy!!

BalasHapusCute Efri, do you know what is noodle in Indonesian? I have a great story about that.
BalasHapusOne day President Bill Clinton visited Indonesia. While he and one of our president were having a talk in the sitting room, our president`s wife was busy preparing noodle in the kitchen. After it was ready, she went to the sitting room to ask Bill Clinton: "Mr. President, do you like mie (me)?" Firstly Clinton smiled, no answer. So, on top of her voice she asked him , "Mr. Clinton do you like me?" No answer. This time she slowly and more confidently asked again, "Mr. President Clinton, please, do you like me? Still hot". Heheheheeee
